Hi,

I am sending my senior parents on the Carnival Legend in May.

They would like to go to a beach close to the port just for some sun soaking and bathing.

What suggestions do you have?

The ship docks at 8AM and leaves the port at 3pm. So they are just planning to go early in the morning.

I've heard there is Coral Cay beach, Tabyana Beach, Fosters'West Bay and Mayan Princess. How far are these from the port with a taxi? Also would it be safe for them to book this on their own by just hiring a taxi to bring them their and another to bring them back? Approximately how much will a taxi cab for 2 people be and what is the price for admission to the beaches?

Your help is greatly appreciated.

Maria

I would consider Fins and Flippers. You will not need a cab. Read up on it on this board. It is getting rave reviews.

enjoy

Check out Victor Bodden tours on Roaton. You walk to the end of the pier, he has a both there, he has your email confirmation. He takes you were you want to go and stays with you the whole day.. Very nice

If your parents don't have a spot to go on Cozumel, let me suggest Paridise Beach. Take a taxi for about $13 a couple going and $20 coming back. Very nice beach, good food and reasonble drinks. Clean changing rooms too

Roatan is definately Fins and Flippers. Read my post under the Fins and Flippers post above. Its a short walk (50 yards) to the right from the exit from the cruise ships dock. It's easy to see from the cruise ship dock; its a smaller dock with a thached roof cover on it near by. The small tender boat said Athony's Cays on it, ( F&F's Parent company)There was a guy standing on the side walk holding a sign saying Fins & Flippers. We told him we had reservation and he escorted out on to the dock and they helped us on to the boat. Pool, beach, rest rooms, store, food and drinks and wonderful people all for $20 a person, pre booked. (food and drinks are extra but inexpensive) Quiet, only 6 guests for the 1st few hours we were there; that's including DW and I!

I agree with cozomel suggestion above. Paradise beach is really nice. Chairs and umbrella provide for free, they just want you to spend $10 per person on food or drink. FREE internet at the bar!!!!!:D
