golf4food Posted April 1, 2008 #1 Share Posted April 1, 2008 Key West will be our first port on our first cruise ever. Our kids will be 16, 13, 13 when we sail. There are 3 shoppers and 2 non-shoppers in the bunch. The 2 non-shoppers can tolerate some shopping. The pirate museum sounds like it is right up our alley so we will probably do that. What other activities should we look into?
Silvery Seas Cruiser Posted April 1, 2008 #2 Share Posted April 1, 2008 The Butterfly Conservatory is cool. Take the Trolley or the Conch Train for an overall view of the town. It is fun to climb the Key West Light House. There is a free Eco-Science museum that has many interesting displays. You might enjoy one of the glass-bottomed boats or one of the tall ships for a harbor cruise. The teens might enjoy Ron Jons Surf shop on Front Street. The ladies might enjoy Key West Aloe for soaps and similar toiletries made of aloe. There is a Tortuga rum cake store.
crazybus Posted April 5, 2008 #3 Share Posted April 5, 2008 I am sure they would enjoy the Pirate Museum. It depends on how much time you have in Key West. There is alot to do right near the ship. The Aquarium, Mel Fisher Museum, Shipwreck Historeum. These are all within a block of each other and near the pier. And you can shop right there at Mallory Square too!:D The lighthouse and Hemingway's house is very nice also but it will take about a 15 to 20 minute walk to get there.
