Ft Lauderdale Hotel?

I am in the process of looking for a Ft Lauderdale hotel for our March '09 cruise. We will need at least 3 rooms but don't want to spend a fortune. Just don't want a bad neighborhood, or bad accomodations either. I would prefer it having an airport shuttle service at the least, if it had a shuttle to the port everglades pier that would be awesome too. Does anyone have any suggestions? Where to look or where to stay away from? Hotel reviews would be awesome.

Thanks

Jane

the courtyard airport/cruiseport was nice.....not much around to eat except the islamorada fish place inthe bass pro shops next door..BUT they have airport and cruise port shuttles..(they will take you TO the port, you'd have to cab it back!)

if you have AAA sometimes there are good rates on marriott.com we got it for 125 per night...keep checking, rates change all the time! it went UP to over 200 and we booked kind of late for a jan 08 cruise...(probably sometime in late nov or dec, the rate dropped.)
