Map of Zeebrugge and train station

Perhaps the following map of the port at Zeebrugge might help. The red line should be the way to walk to the train station at "Strand" (the Dutch word for beach). Depending on the actual location of your ship, the distance is less than a mile. If for some reason, they will not allow you to walk along the cay, it should still be easy enough to find your way.

I want to thank Lair Bear for doing all this research to make sure it is possible to take the train directly to Bruges. Personnally, I think it beats paying $135 for a taxi ride that is only about nine miles.

I am curious if anyone knows if there is an ATM machine in the little beach village shown in the lower left corner. There appears to be a couple hotels and restaurants, so the chances are pretty good to get euros there.

The large ship shown in the middle of the picture is one of the ferries that goes to England and Scotland.

Nice, easy walk...BUT, at least on the Star last week we were not allowed to walk in this industrial port. Had to pay to take ships bus, not happy, since tram is 150 yards from the ship. Check with your cruise line.

STAR PRINCESS and all other larger ships this year so far called Zweedse Kaai which is not on this map.

Only two smaller ships called the berth on the picture.

But before you generilze something:

This train stop on the picture is Zeebrugge Strand which is only served on weekends.

On weekdays Zeebrugge Dorp is served which is not on the picture either.

Most cruise ship lines offer a complimentary shuttle to Blankenberge one block away from the train station.

Princess obviously does not.

But at Zweedse Kaai you are not allowed to walk out or in to get on the tram which runs about 400 yards from the terminal gate.
