maxamuus Posted April 7, 2008 #1 Share Posted April 7, 2008 Anyone ever try to find all the ships? I have noticed in looking at some ports i have been to/going to i have found a few ships. There is 1 docked at Tampa, and 2 in Grand Cayman. Anyone spoted others and know whichs ships are where?
allgeeteredup Posted April 7, 2008 #2 Share Posted April 7, 2008 The only port I have been able to find is Galveston. The Conquest picture seems to be the same one for the past 8 months. Does Google Earth update?
H82seaUgo Posted April 7, 2008 #3 Share Posted April 7, 2008 I saw one in Ocho Rios. Got only knows when any of those pics are from. I also saw the wreck of the SS America off the coast of Fuerteventura in the Canaries. That looks cool! But the coolest thing I have ever seen on Google Earth were the Pyramids! maxamuus Posted April 7, 2008 Author #4 Share Posted April 7, 2008 They dont update it unless something requires a update. Like ater 9-11 New York was updated, after Katrina New Orleans was updated, etc. Since large parts of the globe is just a rough image i think they are working to improve that. PunkinsDad Posted April 8, 2008 #6 Share Posted April 8, 2008 You can find the SS United States laid up in Philadelphia. What a sad ending for such a beautiful ship. I remember when I was stationed on a Destroyer our of Norfolk, she was tied up across the harbor at Newport News, you could see her from the piers at the Norfolk Naval base. We came back from a short 2 month deployment and she was gone. A couple of years ago, I was looking on GE at all the warships mothballed at the naval yard in Philly and I found her there. rsjc Posted April 8, 2008 #9 Share Posted April 8, 2008 we must all be crazy about cruising to look for cruise ships on Google Earth. I have found myself doing the same thing. I have looked at all US ports, I even found one of RCCL's ships at their private island stop.
