The Links at Safe Haven

We are optimistic that our 11/7/04 Mariner cruise will be able to make its planned stop in Grand Cayman. DH was looking forward to playing golf at The Links at Safe Haven. Anyone know how the course held up in the hurricanes??

Thank you so much for the information. I have been trying off and on all day to get someone to answer at the Links. Line is just busy. It's doubtful then that DH and his friend will get to play when we are there in 3 weeks but who knows.

You're welcome. If the news was dated, perhaps there is a chance.

 

Line busy quite possibly means line out of order. Along with electricity, not all phones service has been restored.

 

Amount of damage seems to be relative:

Grand Cayman

 

The Links at Safe Haven — Hurricane Ivan leveled Grand Cayman and did major damage to the golf course. The course currently is closed.

 

Blue Tip — Greg Norman's new course at the Ritz-Carlton resort was supposed to open this fall but has been pushed back to an undetermined time in 2005.

 

Britannia — The Hyatt Resort's Jack Nicklaus course is currently closed for repairs.

I talked this week to the folks who run the golf excursions for Celebrity and RC and they're saying they aren't sure if any of the courses will be open for our stop there in December 04. None of the courses are open at present. We're not even clear if the cruise will make port there or not due to the overall mess.
