CatNJ Posted April 10, 2008 #1 Share Posted April 10, 2008 Hi! Mom and ten y.o. traveling this August. My co-worker told me Dunn's River Falls was a must do. However, because we dock in Montego Bay - the narrative indicates it's a 2 hour drive. I'm not thinking I want to spend 4 hours round trip on a bus. As an alternative I read about the YS Falls and Rockland Bird Sanctuary. What are your opinions? Worth the travel time for Dunn's? Will we be happy with YS? Please share with me your experiences. I appreaciate your suggestions. Thanks in advance!
Rare shipshape sam Posted April 10, 2008 #2 Share Posted April 10, 2008 I would not want a 4 hour bus ride personally. Not sure about the other falls, but I have done Dunn's River falls twice and would not do it unless I was docked at Ochos Rios.
ubdkjrb Posted April 10, 2008 #3 Share Posted April 10, 2008 ...offers day passes for, I think, $45 per person. It's a fairly nice all-inclusive resort with decent food and excellent drinks. They have a nice white sandy beach as well as a pool for kids and an adult pool with swim-up bar. The resort is a short five minute taxi ride from the ship and the grounds are well-secured. Jamaica can be kind of a rough place if you're not careful. Peter
Lamar Cheeks Posted April 10, 2008 #4 Share Posted April 10, 2008 Sunset is a five-minute cab ride from the Montego dock. It's 40 for adults and 20 for kids (15-under). All inclusive. Very nice. Details are on the Jamaica part of the boards.
Emi's Mom Posted April 10, 2008 #5 Share Posted April 10, 2008 I wouldn't do the bus ride to Dunns River Falls in August!! It's going to be as hot as hell in Jamaica in August, and you may or may not have a bus with AC.
