traingal Posted April 12, 2008 #1 Share Posted April 12, 2008 We are traveling Royal for the 1st time and were wondering if anyone could give us their opinion of the Promenade staterooms. We are going to Canada/New England in September.:)
WEELYNCRUZER Posted April 12, 2008 #2 Share Posted April 12, 2008 They cost a little more than an inside stateroom and are not pichh black. You can watch the parades from your room and they are not noisy. They are convenient to the grand promenade. Go for it.
cb at sea Posted April 12, 2008 #3 Share Posted April 12, 2008 Depending on the ship, they are a bit smaller than an inside room, but because of the window, it will feel more spacious!
Dorene1 Posted April 12, 2008 #4 Share Posted April 12, 2008 We booked one on the EOS, I loved it. I would do it again. I would sit there with my coffee in the morning just to people watch. book it, you will enjoy it as well. Dorene
lady_cruiser Posted April 12, 2008 #5 Share Posted April 12, 2008 FYI - at night if your lights are on and the drapes are open people can look in.
Bellingham Belle Posted April 12, 2008 #6 Share Posted April 12, 2008 We've done forty cruises and I think it was on the Maasdam that we had a front cabin on the Promenade deck and it was terrible! Windows on side and front. Never again! We had to keep the drapes closed all the time. It was impossible to sleep late, all the early morning walkers were not very quiet. Even late at night we sometimes were awakened by noisy strollers.
turs Posted April 13, 2008 #7 Share Posted April 13, 2008 You might want to see what is below the room. Friends of ours were thrilled to be assigned a promanade room after booking an inside guarantee... until they got on ship and realized they were over the Irish Pub....and ST. Patricks day was that week.

But on Royal Caribbean's Voyager and Freedom class ships, a promenade room is an inside room that overlooks the "Royal Promenade", the mall-like center of the ship, not necessarily a room on a Promenade Deck. Easily confused if not familiar with RCI's ships. :) We are booked in a promenade room on VOS on 4/20/08. Cannot wait!!!! :D
cruisegal40 Posted April 13, 2008 #9 Share Posted April 13, 2008 We had two connecting w/ our sons on VOS. We loved it. Got to go on an affordable cruse and look out a window.
