Just Off of the Elation--Any Questions??

We actually didn't do any excursions. In Cabo, we went to The Office, which was a great place to have drinks, some fabulous Mexican food, and a view of the ocean. From there, we walked down the beach a couple hundred feet and went for a swim in the ocean. In Ensenada, we went shopping in town. We had been there before, so we just wanted to see some favorite shops and look for some new glassware. However, I know many people who enjoy visiting the La Bufadora area. Don't take the ship's tour for $30+. Instead, get on the shuttle into Ensenada, and spend $15 instead. It's well worth it for the view and the shopping.

Have a great time! The Elation is a great smaller ship, and we loved our time on it.

Did you use the secret door? I heard there was a deli on board, and my husband is dying to find out how it was? Did you eat Sushi? If so do they have california rolls? We leave on the Elation on the 9th of June and we cant wait. We have been counting down for 2 years now...haha!! ANyways, do you recommend anything to do in Cabo? There is 6 of us, 2 of them are children age 6 and 10. SOrry for bombarding you with all the questions. There is so much to find out, but so little time...haha!!

Thanks again....

We got off the Elation a week ago... don't know of much of a deli... the pizza place in Tiffany's buffet made a couple of different sandwiches and calzones besides the pizza... We had a turkey on a panini roll that was very good... not a huge selection of sandwiches like a regular deli...

Are there refrigerators in the rooms? How about hair dryers?

How are the musical groups - - any good lounge acts besides the big stage shows?

Thanks for your response!

Hi there...

I read somewhere that there are hair dryers in the rooms, however are small. We are in a upper inside stateroom and our room does not have a refrigerator. However mil and fil are staying in a penthouse suite and have a refrigerator....I cant believe we have a lil over a month to go...are you excited?

no hair dryers on the elation... just adds that much more to the suitcase... lol

i did not have a refrigerator in my room as i had a 1A, but don't know about the other cabins...

we were not overly impressed with the smaller lounge acts we saw... there was a band called something like "the breeze"... they were ok... i iike live bands better than a dj... there was a country singer in the drama bar that was pretty good... we stood outside the piano bar where ? damian was playing... he was great but it was pretty smoky in there, so we didn't go in... the karaoke was pretty funny on the nights they had it... the big lounge shows were good... comedians funny...

How late is the night club open til? The capers say "late"...which is a very loose term... :)

It will depend on the crowd in there, sometimes it's only 1:00, sometimes much later than that, that's why they leave it open.

We didn't use the secret door. I honestly forgot all about it once we were onboard!

I also didn't try the deli, but I know a lot of people were enjoying it. I saw people eating some tasty made-to-order grilled sandwiches.

I did eat sushi, and they did have California rolls. The selection at the sushi bar changes every day, but there is always something that is similar to a California roll. There are also a couple of opportunities to eat sushi as appetizers in the dining room.

As for Cabo, we don't have kids, so we hung out at this great bar/restaurant called "The Office" which is on the beach. We saw lots of kids swimming/playing in the ocean there. There were places to rent skimboards/boogieboards, so that could be an option.

I hope all of this helps! Your trip is coming so soon--you're bound to have a great time!

There were neither refrigerators nor hairdryers in the rooms. Be sure to take a hairdryer.

We spent a good amount of time in the piano bar with Damian, but this week is his last week on the Elation, so I'm not sure who will be replacing him. There was a man who was sort of country who sang at the casino bar who was okay. I never did hear the band The Breeze, which seemed to do a variety of different types of rock and country.

Have fun!

DH and I were on the Elation last month and also spent lots of time in the piano bar with Damian, we thought he was GREAT! Sounds like you had a great cruise too.

Hi all!

We just had a fabulous time on the Elation(4/14-4/19), and I would welcome any questions you may have about the ship. Just let me know!

Hi, My daughter and I are going on the 12th of May and are wondering who the Cruise Director is and is the Hypnotist still on board as part of the entertainment?

Thank you for your time and glad you had fun on your cruise!

Lyn
