kalley79 Posted April 23, 2008 #1 Share Posted April 23, 2008 We will be leaving out of Miami on Saturday for our cruise on the Triumph. One of the guys in our party needs to be in contact with work until approx. 4:30 on Saturday afternoon. At what point do you start getting charged the $2.49 per minute? Is it as soon as you get on the ship or after you leave the port? He just doesn't want to end up with some outrageous cell charges because he thinks he is still using Miami's cell towers. Thanks for your help. -Kellie
TheWog Posted April 23, 2008 #2 Share Posted April 23, 2008 I don't believe they turn them on until you leave the port.

Giggles2007 Posted April 23, 2008 #4 Share Posted April 23, 2008 Last cruise I used mines until we we a bit ways out to sea. I have a sprint and I believe it would have went farther but I shut the thing OFF! But I believe (don't quote me) that until 4:30 p you it should still be on the Miami tower. DarthGrady Posted April 23, 2008 #5 Share Posted April 23, 2008 I was able to use my Nextel until we got away from shore, and their coverage stinks. He should be OK.
EBallgrl Posted April 23, 2008 #6 Share Posted April 23, 2008 I made 2 phone calls to my parents to let them know we made it on the ship, signal was no problem in the buffet area but i dont think it worked down in the room (inside main deck). Rare Captain Funtime Posted April 28, 2008 #7 Share Posted April 28, 2008 The display on your phone will indicate "Cellular at Sea" when you are not in port.
