Hello all!

 

I leave on Sunday for a 4-day cruise and I had a couple questions about the table games.

 

I just learned how to play Three Card Poker last night. On the ship, what are the amounts you bet? What's the minimum you can put down on the pair +? Also, does anybody have any general tips for the game?

 

Also, for blackjack, what's the minimum bet on that? I also just learned that.

 

I am a long-time Texas Holdem player, and I understand that most ships have the PokerPro electronic table. Does Sensation have this?

The first day there is a $3 minimum after that $5. 3-card poker always takes my money so you don't want any tips from me.

 

Same minimum for Blackjack. Pick up a basic strategy card if you just learned to play. The casino won't mind if you use it.

 

Yes, it was by the lounge where they had Karaoke (don't remember the name) when I was on the Sensation. But that was almost 2 years ago so it has probably moved.

The thing I've found about 3-card on ships is that you have to play the ante. Normally I play $10 on the pair+ and don't play the ante unless required. On a ship I play $5 ante and $10 pair+. Q-7-3 is the minimum hand to play/bet, according to most books. Some say Q-6-4. I'll sometimes bet lessor hands if the dealer has qualified many times in a row.

 

The house advantage on Pair Plus is 2.32% and if played properly, the house advantage on the Ante/Play game can be as low as 2.02%. Good luck and have fun.

 

Most, if not all, Carnival ships have PokerPro tables now. Carnival signed a 3 year deal back in July 2006 with PokerPro to put their tables on all Carnival and plc ships.

The poker pro table is right by the casino tables, I just got off the Sensation on Thursday.
