Bahamas cruise in December

I was just looking into a December (27th) cruise from NY to Florida/Bahamas on NCL Gem. I was wondering what the weather will be like after we leave NY and our on our way to FL. I know my kids will want to go in the pool on the ship and I just hope it's warm enough (does anyone know if the pools are heated?). Also, would like to go to Atlantis - same question - weather, and does anyone know if the water rides are heated?
