rescue111b Posted April 3, 2004 #1 Share Posted April 3, 2004 WE ARE SAILING ON THE BRILLIANCE OF THE SEAS, JUNE 19, 2004, OUT OF BARCELONA SPAIN. BUT, WE WILL BE STAYING IN GERMANY FOR THE 6 DAYS BEFORE THE SHIP SAILS. ANY SUGGESTIONS ON WHAT TO DO WITH ALL THE CRUISE LUGGAGE WHILE WE BACKPACK THROUGH GERMANY? cujosmom Posted April 3, 2004 #2 Share Posted April 3, 2004 We did a Med Cruise last May. We flew into Munich and for approx. 5 days prior to our cruise (out of Venice) we did the train thing staying in different cities in Germany, Austria and Italy. We were not "backpacking" but staying in hotels along the way. We packed really light for the 17+ days we were gone. One regular suitcase and one carry-on per person. If you are taking the trains, I believe you can leave your luggage at the stations -- They call it "Left Luggage" or something like that where you can store your luggage for the day. If you are doing the trains, you really have to pack light as it's usually up and down stairs to get from ticket area to train platforms and with more than 2 bags per person, it is almost impossible to manuever. We also found it cheaper to buy point-to-point 2nd class tickets than to purchase a Eurail pass. Until we sail on Serenade of the Seas to Alaska <applet code="countdown.class" CODEBASE="http://*************/java-sys" width="203" height="25"> <param name="font" value="lcdb0"> <param name="year" value=2004> <param name="month" value=9> <param name="day" value=05> <param name="hour" value=17> </applet>
