Pan American Pier?

I just booked a hotel room at the Sheraton OSJ, thinking that we would be able to walk to the ship, but then I found out that Adventure leaves from a different pier -- the Pan American pier. Can someone tell me how far away that pier is from the Sheraton OSJ? This is the only map I've found, but it looks like the Pan American Pier isn't in OSJ at all. http://www.travelmaps.com/Images/OldSanJuan.gif

I'm so bummed. I thought I had a great plan, and priceline won't let me cancel my reservation. :(

The Pan American pier is on the "other side" of the San Juan Bay ... the south side. You'll need to take a taxi from/to the Sheraton in OSJ.

will show you the location of the Pan American pier.

The Sheraton is in OSJ across from Pier 4.

Yes, you will have to take a cab to the pier, but it is a short cab ride and meanwhile you will be staying right in the heart of Old San Juan where you will be able to walk right out the hotel door and enjoy everything Old San Juan has to offer for your pre-cruise night and the following morning!

Thanks for the map Ray, and thanks for cheering me up about my mistake, Bonnie! As long as the cab ride is short, then I guess everything's fine. And it will be nice to be able to explore OSJ the day before the cruise. Both of my previous cruises to San Juan stopped at the same pier, so I never even considered that this ship might be someplace else!

Can anyone give me a rough guess about how much I can expect the cab fare to be?

The cab fare from the Sheraton area to the Pan Am pier should be $9.00 for up to 5 people. Additional people are $2.00 each. The first 3 pieces of luggage are 50 cents each. Each additional piece of luggage is $1.00.

Here's a list of all the "fixed rate" taxi fares in the "tourism area" ... http://www.puertoricodaytrips.com/2008/01/16/getting-around-by-taxi/

Here's a great map that shows the location of the Pan American Pier: http://www.langland.org/cruises/sanjuan.asp

All of RCCL's cruises that homeport in San Juan leave from this pier.

No worries, you are right in the heart of OSJ, go right out the back of the hotel to the Parrot Club for the best Cuban-Latin fusion cuisine out! You'll save more in cab fare being able to walk to OSJ than you will loose in having to take a cab to the pier!

Thanks toonjie! We'll check out the Parrot Club for dinner the night before the cruise.

You can check it out here, http://www.oofrestaurants.com/, it's expensive, but world-class good food! They also own some other restaurants as you'll see on the web page, including the Pina Colada Club, (drinks only) which is right across the street from Fort San Christobal and makes for a great rest stop after touring the forts.
