budgetcruiser Posted October 6, 2004 #1 Share Posted October 6, 2004 My sister and I were at Paradise Beach by 9:00 am last Saturday. Everything was great. The equipment was in great condition and everything is very clean. We were there until about 1:00 pm and there weren't very many people. We met up with a couple of people from our cruise ship and they said their cab driver has tried to persuade them to another beach. They said they ran into a couple that had taken the cab drivers suggestion and were very dissapointed and then took a cab to Paradise Beach and were amazed at how clean everything was. Do the cab drivers get a kickback for taking people to some of the beaches? My sister and I would definetely go here again.

budgetcruiser Posted October 6, 2004 Author #3 Share Posted October 6, 2004 They had the beach in excellent condition. There are a few rocks when you first walk in but all in all it is very smooth. The snorkeling was fun. Not a lot of colorful fish but the water is so clean you can see fish and we also saw a starfish.
CozSally Posted October 7, 2004 #4 Share Posted October 7, 2004 Yes, budgetcruiser, some beaches and some restaurants for that matter, do offer a kickback to taxi drivers to bring them clients. Some taxi drivers will even go so far as to tell their passengers that their requested destination is closed in order to take them to a location that pays. This is one of the reasons I do not encourage tipping of taxi drivers unless they have gone out of their way to be friendly and/or informative. Glad you had a great time!
