Snorkeling at Cayo Levantado

I know this is not directly answering your question but I just took a land vacation to the D.R. for a week and heard everyone going on and on about the excursion to the Catalina Island and that snorkeling is incredible there. I went to Saona Island and some people from our resort that went to Catalina Island instead of Saona Island said the snorkeling was unreal.

We did some snorkeling. It was OK. Go all the way to the right near the rocks. We did see schools of small fish and starfish. Maybe if you go further around the rocks, away from the beach you will see even more. We didn't go that far out, but it seemed to get (a little) better near the rocky areas. We have some underwater pics, can post once we get them developed.
