Amsterdam city tour

My husband and I are looking for a morning city tour of Amsterdam that will give us a good overview of the city so we can spend the afternoon and the next few days wandering on our own. Or maybe some of you who know Amsterdam would have a better suggestion than an overview city tour?

 

Any recommendations for a 1/2 day city tour - or other ideas - will be appreciated. Thank you! :)

Maybe a narrated canal boat cruise would be fun & fit the bill?

 

We're taking an evening narrated canal tour in a couple of weeks.

They were very helpful, prompt to reply to our emails.

We needed a little extra advice as one in our party uses a wheelchair.

You might try one of the Canal tours as the boats move thru out the city. I don't know if Amsterdam has a HOHO bus...that would be a good option also.
