jordanaire Posted April 5, 2004 #1 Share Posted April 5, 2004 My wife and I just enjoyed a wonderful southern Caribbean cruise aboard the AOS. Since we have tons of luggage to unpack, I don't have time to write my review today. However, I will be doing it within the next couple of days, so if you have any questions, please feel free to ask. I will try to answer them in my review. Quick Tip: Take clothes pins to hold your towel to your chair as you lie next to the pool! We saw many guests trying to keep their towels from blowing away, and clothes pins would solve this problem. Quick Tip: Make sure you have GOOD sunscreen! We used grade 45 sunscreen, and both of us got sunburned badly, with my wife getting sun poisoning! And this was after lying out next to the pool for less than 2 hours! Warning: Be prepared to experience the WORST airport in the world...San Juan! With 4 cruise ships all sending their passengers to the airport at one time, the lines are VERY, VERY long at the ticket counters! We stood in the Delta ticket counter line for over 2 hours. Then we spent another 1.5 hours in the security line. All of this taking place in an airport WITHOUT air conditioning! It was miserable!!! My review is forthcoming! jordanaire Posted April 5, 2004 Author #6 Share Posted April 5, 2004 DMorris....originally, our flight left San Juan at 3:05pm. However, the flight was overbooked and we exchanged it for $400 pp and was put on the next flight, which was 2 hours later, but still allowed us to connect to Lexington. We had arrived at the SJ airport at 10:45am and by the time we checked in, went through security and got to the gate, they were starting to board the 3:05 flight. DocNJersey...we did not buy any alcohol, so I can't say whether or not it was available at the pier. Sorry!
