South America cruise around the Horn

Has anyone done this cruise and want to share how great it was? How was the airport in Buenos Aires? I hear you have to carefully watch your bags due to theft? We're trying to decide between Infinity's new Antarctica cruise and the traditional cruise from Santiago to B.A. The Antarctica cruise sounds exciting, but almost half the cruise is sea days. Booked on 8/16/08 for the Baltic/St. Petersburg 14 day cruise on the Connie. Thanks for any input, elaine

We did BA to Santiago it was the greatest trip. We absolutely loved it. If the Antarctic cruise would have been available I would have considered it, just imagine:

 

we are you going on vacation?

 

A cruise.

 

Great, to where?

 

oh, the Antarctic.

 

We also enjoy sea days.

 

We had no problems at either airport, but whenever traveling you should always be extra careful.

we did this cruise last year as a b2b frm fll to buenos ie thru the canal down the west coast of SA and round the horn to buenos

 

the buenos/santiago leg is great we loved it

 

if you decide to go spend a few days in buenos before (or after) the cruise, its a wonderful city

 

we did the b2b to average down the cost of airfare it was almost as cheap to be on the ship for 2wks as to fly to buenos or santiago from toronto

 

we loved the trip, we went in middle of november on INFINITY if the do same itinerary in 08 you may want to try it

Thanks! We were supposed to do this cruise last Nov., but illness forced a last-minute cancellation. We want to see penguins, penguins and more penguins, and where better place! However, we are tempted by the new Celebrity Antarctica trip instead. But, all those sea days....
