Alaska Shore Exc. Questions

Hello,

 

Has anyone done the Crab Feast in Ketchikan or the dog sledding in Juneau not by helicopter? The train ride in Skagway, better to do the one with the gold mining or just the regular? Traveling with a 3 1/2 year old. He loves trains and animals and thought these would be good for him??:confused:

 

I want him not to be "bored" on the side trips.

if by the "regular" on (train in skagway) do you mean the 3 1/2 hour round-trip? no wildlife and a chance he would be bored. the train would be fun, but there is no place for him to move around.

if you are interested in other train/bus combo trip you can google chilkoot charters...they do several tours in connection for the train. dog sledding is available around carcross..along this route. car rentals, from skagway, is a good thing, also. stopping when/where you want.
