bigpete47uk Posted May 27, 2008 #1 Share Posted May 27, 2008 Morning all, We will be arriving at The Terminal by taxi, so just a few questions:- (1) How close can taxi get to terminal? (2) Are there plenty of baggage trolleys available near taxi rank? (3) We are staying at the Novotel the night before and wondered how far it is to the terminal and hence how annoyed the taxi driver will be about having a very short fare. (4) As question 3 but from Rail Station to the Novotel. Many thanks for your time, Pete.
BrianI Posted May 27, 2008 #2 Share Posted May 27, 2008 1. The taxi will drop you off almost at the door. 2. There are no baggage trolleys as you don't need them. Your baggage is collected from your taxi and you walk into the terminal with just your hand baggage. Just make sure your cruise labels are attached to your luggage before arrival. Cannot answer your other questions but dont think you will have a problem with a taxi Brian
CASPALL Posted May 27, 2008 #3 Share Posted May 27, 2008 We have always arrived by taxi and are always impressed the way your baggage is taken away so quickly by the porters. I did wonder the first time if we would ever see our cases again but no problem! The Southampton taxi drivers are among the friendliest in Britain and are well used with the short distances. As they are so nice we feel more inclined to tip generously.

Borf2 Posted May 27, 2008 #5 Share Posted May 27, 2008 Having sat for an hour to get to the Mayflower on Ventura's 9th May cruise I think we're going for the taxi option next time, they skip all the queuing as the marshals let them by.
