4everafter Posted May 28, 2008 #1 Share Posted May 28, 2008 What advice should I give my mom on picking a hotel close to port? She is staying in Seattle 2 days before sail.
Jondras Posted May 28, 2008 #2 Share Posted May 28, 2008 Hi Five-Riley's...this all depends on what you want to spend. There are many great hotels right near the pier perfect for staying at while doing some pre-cruise sightseeing, but they tend to be a bit pricey. My recommendation is either the Seattle Waterfront Marriott (walking distance to port..I mean reallly just right across the street), the Edgewater...a few blocks down, or the Alexis Hotel...a few more blocks up the hill a bit from the water. All are fairly expensive as with any hotel in downtown. Prices are usually in the triple digits per night depending on the day and time frame. KeyOfSea Posted May 29, 2008 #4 Share Posted May 29, 2008 It really depends on whether they leave from Pier 66 or 30.
PHYLLISR Posted May 29, 2008 #5 Share Posted May 29, 2008 The Edgewater is wonderful- and walking distnace to the pier! Loved it.
syotyu Posted May 29, 2008 #6 Share Posted May 29, 2008 The Edgewater has such nice room views I would pick it. It is expensive. There is a SilverCloud Inn on Lake Union that was surprisingly nice (they have a free shuttle to anywhere in the downtown area and also to the space needle) that you might like if you can't afford the Edgewater. JLSatUD Posted May 29, 2008 #7 Share Posted May 29, 2008 We stayed at the Hampton Inn that was cati-corner from the Space Needle and Experience Music Project Museum. Not too too pricey, free hot breakfast, and hot cookies in the afternoon. Took just a few min to taxi to the pier downtown. A lot of downtown Seattle is pretty close to the pier, you don't necessarily need to stay in the swankiest place if you just want a room for your stuff and a pillow for your head. Enjoy! :)
