Lefty Bob Posted June 4, 2008 #1 Share Posted June 4, 2008 I know of someone taking the QM2 later this year. He will be recovering from an eye operation. He will take a tape and/or CD player for audio books. Does anyone know if the library has audio tapes or CD of books? Lefty Bob
cunarder Posted June 4, 2008 #2 Share Posted June 4, 2008 Hi Lefty Bob, I was in the library for a short time last October. I believe the library does have some audio tapes. Ed

Rare Colin_Cameron Posted June 4, 2008 #4 Share Posted June 4, 2008 Somewhere on the Cunard site it lists how many books, CD's and tapes are in the library. If I can find it again I'll let you know. Regards, Colin.

Rare Colin_Cameron Posted June 4, 2008 #6 Share Posted June 4, 2008 Seems it doesn't actually say whether the audio books are tapes or CDs. "The largest library at sea featuring 8,000 hardbacks, 500 paperbacks, 200 audio books and 100 CD-ROMs." Regards, Colin.

Rare Colin_Cameron Posted June 5, 2008 #8 Share Posted June 5, 2008 Another thought Lefty Bob. I borrow audiobooks from our local library, convert them on my PC from CD to .mp3 and put them on my mp3 player. The lowest .mp3 quality is ok for speech meaning that I can get a couple of complete books on a 256MB player (depends on the size of the books obviously). You can pick up a player quite cheap these days and they're much smaller/lighter for packing than a CD or tape player. Regards, Colin.
