Victoria Question

I searched the Canada forum and the Alaska forum, but, well......you know.

We are stopping in Victoria from 7-midnight. The teens we have with us wish to do a ghost walk that starts at the Visitor Center. What is the best way to get there?

There will be shuttles at the pier as well as taxies, tour busses, limos, you name it.

It is walkable but with your short port time, I would suggest a taxi or the shuttle.

(Taxies might balk a bit at the short trip, although they are not

supposed to.)

Suggestion - contact the tour operator to see if they can arrange pick-up.

They offer private tours as well so they may be able to do something for you.

You probably won't be able to make the 7:30 tour so the next one is 9:30.

Just make sure you have a way to get back to the ship in time for departure.

(Herding teenagers is like herding cats.)

We made it to the 7:30 ghostly walk with Discover the Past\John Adams (with time to spare), and we arrived in port at 7. But we were 3rd in line to get off the boat. So we had to get ready early. If the teens want to do the tour, maybe they will work with you on getting ready and off the ship on time. Once off the boat, there are shuttles right there ($6 pp, round trip). Depending on how many people you have, you'll have to weigh which would be better, taxi or shuttle. Taxis are also right there so that should not be a problem.

Once you are dropped in town next to the Empress Hotel, the visitor center is right across the street. You can't miss it. Have fun!

We took the shuttle to the Empress last month and decided on a cab back, fare with tip was $10. Victoria is a small town, only 350K, so cabies are quite used of short trips ....shouldn't be a problem.
