No its about a mile away but an unencumbered view.

Here is a picture of the Explorer in port taken from the Staten Island Ferry. You can see the ship is some distance away from the Statue Of Liberty.

You can still see Lady Liberty and it always has an effect on me.:o

I forgot them last year - NY harbor is definitely an interesting place to have them. They're on my list for next year.

 

When you sail in and out of NY you can actually see the Statue of Liberty for quite a while as well as a zillion other things.

 

It's too bad that RC can't sail up towards the Statue before leaving the harbor. It would be a great selling point!

Yes, they do - on the port side. Try getting up on an upper deck for the best views. Going under the Verrazano is also breathtaking.
