colemonster Posted June 6, 2008 #1 Share Posted June 6, 2008 Will be in Bermuda in a few days and wandered if anyone knew if they accepted the pound in additional to the dollar? We were in London last year and managed to return home with 40 pounds (appr. $80 USD) and thought it would be nice to spend it if we could as I doubt we will be getting back to the UK anytime soon. Thanks in advance.
iheartbda Posted June 6, 2008 #2 Share Posted June 6, 2008 Bermuda accepts only U.S. dollars since they are on par. I think you're just going to have to keep the pounds as souvenirs.:)

Thanks in advance. Any bank in Bermuda will exchange them for you and so will most US banks. Most banks will exchange them at whatever the exchange rate is and charge you a five dollar fee. so you should get close to $75 US back for 40 pounds....the dollar is not doing very well....don't be surprised if Bermuda changes to Euros sometime in the future. I can't believe they would give up the pig penny! We were living in Bermuda in the 60s when they switched from the Pound Sterling to the Bermudian Dollar. I love the pig penny!
