LynneL Posted June 6, 2008 #1 Share Posted June 6, 2008 A friend is sailing Norwegian this summer & asked me if there is any 24 food service area, such as when he sailed on Carnival (24 hr. Pizza & free soft serve ice cream/yogurt). I've never been on Norwegian. Anyone help with this answer? Thanks.
Toyz711 Posted June 6, 2008 #2 Share Posted June 6, 2008 what ship? some have a "blue lagoon"..a 24hour diner. limited menus, but a good place for comfort food..burgers, fries, wings, etc. plus the room service. but if you list which ship, people will be able to tell you exactly.. Toyz711 Posted June 6, 2008 #4 Share Posted June 6, 2008 ah...good, in that case i know the answer!!:D the spirit has the blue lagoon...it only has a few tables, but does serve 24 hours. this give you an idea of the menu http://travel.webshots.com/photo/2152543270077124157iRCMBi it is limited...they, also have a breakfast menu. room service menu is changing, i don't have the link for that... it's limited, also...mostly cold foods and sandwiches. hope they like the cruise, the NCL spirit is my favorite ship.. LynneL Posted June 6, 2008 Author #5 Share Posted June 6, 2008 Thanks so much for that info. I just printed the menu but it says "suite room service." Does that mean they'll deliver to a suite from the diner or this is a room service only menu. He doesn't want room service because late at night once you head back to the room to wait you usually die out. It really has a nice assortment - if this is a diner, you'll have made him a happy man with this info (he does love to eat - lol). Now you've got me wanting to give NCL a try (I have 4 cruises for this year - somewhat a record for me - 3 on Carnival, doing 1 on Royal Carib.). Toyz711 Posted June 6, 2008 #6 Share Posted June 6, 2008 no, if someone has a suite..they can get food from anywhere via the butler. for those of us in normal cabins, you have to go get it.(except for room service) that's the same menu i saw at the tables, the person that posted must have had it in their suites.. the spirit has 2 main dining rooms, a action stations dining (buffet), a couple of grills, usually an late-afternoon outdoor buffet, the blue lagoon, a late night spread in the casino, room service, a couple of the bars serve food at different times (have to check the daily newsletter) surcharges are the steakhouse, cagney's, le bistro and the 3 asian dining. at last report the italian is still included, no surcharge. your friends won't starve you can find some photos of the ship in my webshot link..i took her out of new orleans in dec. she's a smaller ship..doesn't have the big "mall" that the newer mega ships have.
