Cruise to nowhere on the victory 6/7

We left on Friday 6/6 from Va. Beach. (12 miles away) and decided to stay at the Sheraton, Waterside in Norfolk. The room was very nice and the bed great. We met Posh, his DW, ddoc and her DH for drinks and lunch. It was just lunch for the posh and us and then just drinks at the bar with ddoc and her DH. The service at the bar and restaurant was horrid to say the least.I won't waist my time talking about the restaurant and bar that you should not go to!!!!

We all ventured to harborfest and then we went to the seafood restaurant next to the hotel. Capt. something, my mind is not doing well today so don't quite remember the name. The food was wonderful and cheap.

Saturday, we all had breakfast in the same horrid hotel restaurant with the service just as bad. Thatguy and is friend along with Rob and his DW came by. We all left and walked to the ship.

Checking in was a breeze and we waited about 30 mins. to get on the ship. Our cabins were not ready so off we went for lunch on the lido deck. Rob, Barb, Posh, Sam, TG, Terry, DH and myself all sat outside and ate with the 100 degree weather OMG was it hot. Several drinks later we did not care. We left in pairs to check out our room so we could keep the tables. When we were all back we dedided to check out the ship and meet by the casino in an hour. More drinks and then Posh's wife and I went to make a change to our reservations for dinner so we could eat dinner together. No problem we got it changed and back to the bar we went.

After a drink or 2 we left to go and unpack. We had an inside stateroom on the Empress deck cabin 7375. Super nice and our steward was nomer. Very sweet but only saw him twice. This was our first time with an inside cabin and I would do it in a heartbeat again. I have always had a mini suite and have one in October, however, if I could change it I would not mind the inside cabin at all. Plenty of room and ate evening snacks on the bed from roomservice.

We are in the dininng room for both nights. The food was ok, but not up to the standards of Princess or Holland. I thought the desserts were not that great. Melting lava cake was wonderful. The pizza was very good and what little we had at the buffet was ok.

The casino was great and I lucked out with the dollar slots and won $1200. DH won $99 on the nickle slots and $120 on the quarter. We saw alot of people not winning so I feel we were just lucky. We paid for the cruise, had spending money and the best part we brought money home.:D

We got up for breakfast at 7, went to the buffet and were off the ship by 8:30.

Fantastic time and we would not hesitate to take another Carnival cruise as the employees were top notch with always a smile.

The cruise was really made by our Cruise Critic roll call. We really made some lasting friends and can't wait to travel with them again.

We flew in from Atlanta on 6/6 and stayed at the Mariott Waterside and couldn't have been more pleased. Harborfeast was a great experience!

Only negative was our inability to get a cab into the port area. It wasn't far, but my husband had recently had surgery. Same problem on return, no cabs to be found and impossible to hail one from corner. Finally found a brave soul who ventured into the Nauticus parking lot and he took us to the airport.

Would hope this is not a normal occurrence, but happened because of the Harborfest.

We also had an inside cabin on the Empress Deck, #7277 which was fine; we had expected a refrigerator, however, and there was none.

Great ship, wonderful crew; much preferred over a recent Princess 3 day cruise.

Glad you enjoyed your CTN on the Victory! We've done the same one twice. The first was great due to fellow passengers. The last was not as good, also due to fellow passengers! LOL

I can say that this year was completely different from last year - I know what you mean about the passengers! Different crowd this year and the crew seemed much friendlier and happier to be there. We went back thinking that we'd try it one more time and if it was the same we wouldn't do another CTN - this one made us want to go again any time. :D

Well satisfied with the room at the Sheraton. Service in the dining room and bar was slow. Cruise was great. I ws very pleased. The food was a little downgraded from past cruises. I think (and hope) that it was because of the 2 day cruise. I hope it wasn't the new menu because I

found the new choices, while good, seemed to be less expensive offerings. I guess this is belt tightening time for the cruise lines. Overall a delightful

experience.

I got home Monday night and had to be rushed to the hospital and got 2

diagnoses--cardiac heart failure and bacterial pneumonia.--I don't believe either was correct, I think it was from the heat. The ride in the ambulance was exciting and I fought to get discharged on Tuesday.

Hi to all on the trip. Hope you all made it home safe and sound.
