FlyingPhotog Posted June 12, 2008 #1 Share Posted June 12, 2008 My wife's AT&T Blackberry device has GPS and we plan to use it to navigate from Seattle to Vancouver and points around those areas. Does anyone know if her U.S.-based Blackberry GPS will work once we cross the border, and will there be any additional data fees?
Putterdude Posted June 12, 2008 #2 Share Posted June 12, 2008 It should work, ATT has an arrangement with an operator here in Canada called Rogers. I would suggest that you check with ATT re extra fees as they may well apply.
seejay65 Posted June 16, 2008 #3 Share Posted June 16, 2008 The GPS will of course work anywhere in the world. AT&T phones will work in Canada on the Rogers network. But definately check with AT&T about roaming charges on data. I assume the Blackberry GPS application downloads maps off the data network. The charges could be pretty steep. I just used my iPhone up there but turned off data roaming when I found out how much they were going to charge. They had data packages for the iPhone but decided to pass. As we were in Victoria for just one day.
