Tenders to Cococay

Recommended Posts

Yep both times I've been there it's first come, first serve. And I agree about waiting even 30 minutes so the morning rush can get through.

The tenders run all day, maybe every 15 minutes.

Have fun, I love Coco Cay! Have a Coco Loco for me. :p :D

Getting onto the island wasn't a problem for us, but the line to get back on was horrendous. Next time I will go a little earlier or even a little later, assuming they won't leave you on the island. I seemed to hit it just when everybody thought it was about time to head back to the ship.

Each time I have been it is first come first served since there are no passengers booked on excursions to get off. Just avoid the first morning rush, everyone wants to be the first off....:)

Actually there are excursions. Kayakers, snorkelers and us scuba divers were escorted on the first tender. There was plenty of room for others though.

On our recent cruise, there was a long wait to get on the tenders due to rough seas. It was questionable for a while whether we would even be allowed off the ship. The problem was that the opening to the harbor is only a little wider than the tenders and was slamming into the opening. When we finally got on the island, our Kayak excursion was canceled. Going back, we had no trouble getting on the tenders. The foot wash at the dock was a nice place to remove the sand from between your tootsies.
