You make a lot of sense. Actually, I have all the grapics turned off. I think it was the "tude" that was a little off-putting.:D

I agree again & did clean up my signatures as you can see. And yes it was the attitude that got me also...

Be VERY thankful you posted on this forum (CC), not Flyertalk, Airliners.net or some of the other forums devoted to air travel. You would have been BLASTED out of the forum. We try to be nice over here.

Chev29. We will be cruising with you Dec 7.

I purchased our tickets in Jan. Today I checked and they are now $220. more per ticket. Glad I booked early. Just an FWI, I had read on a post that American Air Lines has canceled and rebooked flights. (thank goodness for these posts)I checked with AA and sure enough my flight out had changed. Never received any notice, calls or anything to the change. They put us on a really bad flight. 2 stops, 10 hrs of flying with lay overs. Original flight was 1 stop, 7 hrs of flying. I told them to change my flight to another and there was no problem. Even better flight then my first one I had booked. We get in an hour ealier.:D

So glad someone else made the right choice and didn"t procrastrinate. We are flying in the day before in case the weather is bad. Maybe we could meet for a drink on board.

NEW AIRLINE RULES

Attendant: Welcome aboard Ala Carte Air, Sir.

May I see your ticket?

Passenger: Sure.

Attendant: You're in seat 12B. That will be $5, Please!

Passenger: What for?

Attendant: For telling you where to 'Sit'.

Passenger: But I already knew where to sit.

Attendant: Nevertheless, we are now charging a seat locator fee of $5.

It's the Airline's new Policy.

Passenger: That's the craziest thing I ever heard.

I won't pay it.

Attendant: Sir, Do you want a seat on this flight,

or not ?

Passenger: Yes, yes. All right, I'll pay.

But the airline is going to hear about this.

Attendant: Thank you. My goodness,

Your carry-on bag looks heavy.

Would you like me to stow it in the overhead compartment for you?

Passenger: That would be Swell, Thanks.

Attendant: No problem. Up we go, and done!

That will be $10, Please.

Passenger: What ?

Attendant: The Airline now charges a $10 carry-on assistance fee.

Passenger: This is extortion. I won't stand for it.

Attendant: Actually, you're right, you can't stand.

You need to sit,

And fasten your seat belt.

We're about to push back from the gate.

But, first I need that $10.

Passenger: "No Way! "

Attendant: Sir, if you don't comply,

I will be forced to call the Air Marshal.

And you really don't want me to do that.

Passenger: Why Not? Is he going to 'Shoot me'?

Attendant: No, But there's a $50 Air-Marshal

hailing fee.

Passenger: Oh, all right, here, take the $10.

I can't believe this.

Attendant: Thank you for your cooperation, sir.

Is there anything else I can do for you?

Passenger: Yes. It's stuffy in here, and my overhead fan doesn't seem

to work. Can you fix it?

Attendant: Your overhead fan is not broken, Sir.

Just insert two quarters into the

Overhead coin slot for the First Five minutes.

Passenger: The Airline is charging me for Cabin air?

Attendant: Of course not, sir. Stagnant cabin air is provided free of

charge.

It's the circulating air that costs 50 cents.

Passenger: I don't have any quarters.

Can you make change for a dollar?

Attendant: Certainly, Sir! Here you go!

Passenger: But you've given me only three quarters for my dollar.

Attendant: Yes, there's a 'change making fee' of 25 cents.

Passenger: For cryin' out loud. All I have left is a lousy quarter ?

What the heck can I do with this ?

Attendant: Hang onto it. You'll need it later for the lavatory.

We actually do have the technology to get off most fossil fuel use - but not the political will. With plug in hybrids and nuclear power we can eliminate most green house gases and oil deman. The French perspective on nuclear power is right and are in good shape for securing their energy future.

Virgin Atlantic did some demonstration flights burning bio diesel in one of their aircraft. I don't know how far off this is for commercial use but it is at least a step.

Ethanol from corn is a joke. The Brazilans use sugar cane and this is quite an efficient method of creating ethanol (US can't import Brazilian ethanol due to farm lobby). Brazil has gone from being totally dependent on imports to being energy independent by being practical and allowing off shore drilling.

You are absolutely correct! Until people get practical about the sources and solutions we are in a world of hurt. Let your pols know that you aren't interested in a steady decline back to the "dark ages" - pun intended.

Appreciate the comments. I'll try to address in order.

I disagree, we only have limited technology at this time. We will have it in about forty years if we are lucky.

Plug in cars. Yikes, drive one from Denver to KC.:(

Fossil fuels. Cars get good gas mileage, run better and longer than ever with less repairs. Pollution on new cars seems ok and gets better. They have never built better cars. Why do we want to get off fossil fuels until we have something better and plug in cars isn't it.?

Green house gases, carbon foot print. Give me a break.

Nuclear agree, we build them for other countries, why not here?

Ethanol. Agree with your assessment but it is still no good. It is all government subsidized with our tax money. It takes as much energy to produce as it delivers. You can't put it in a pipe line it has to go by truck or ship and then truck. And I guess it plays havoc with the food supply south of the boarder. Lastly I've even seen articles where it isn't the best thing for your car.

For any type of energy independence I don't see any way around drilling for oil and building refineries. We do have advance technology for doing this. Many Many people are realizing this, about 35 years late, but it will happen or as you say we will be in a steady decline to the dark ages. Economically anyway.

Cartels are against the law in this country and yet we accept this oil cartel whose members include a lot a not so good guys. Makes no since and we do it because of a bunch of wackoo's (opinion).

Folks I want to continue cruising we need to straighten this thing up.
