Resort Vacation - First in Years! vs. Cruising.... Exclusively for Years!

We didn't really want an all inclusive for this vacation....maybe for another sometime.

We well knew for some of the lower category cabins you cannot beat a cruise for value for the dollar. What we did not have current comparison about was the higher end suites vs. resort costs. As stated here previously, the suite prices have risen considerably and we were curious about commensarate rises for land vacations. We got our answer:

Thanks for the nice message. :) GREATLY appreciated.
Welcome Home Sail,

We are under the same analysis as we bounce through land and cruise vacations. Value seems to be weighted towards cruises, but we have fabulous times at land based resorts as well.

See you in August!
Looking forward to meeting you in August. The Roll Call is about as slow as any I've seen. ;) I almost never participate in them but tried this time. Guess there aren't many of us on that cruise. Oh well.
Good Guess!!! :D

We went to Hyatt Pier 66. We've been staying there for years pre and post cruise but never for an extended stay. The most was three days pre cruise but usually two days pre and one day post.

They did a major remodel of the lobby and breakfast room. Built a large bar in the lobby. Very nice improvements. Grounds are still lovely and pool actually improved as they removed some of the palms that made for too much shade on the pool area. There is still sufficient shade.

It was the perfect place for us to go at this time for the reasons we needed to get away. It was an easy, lazy, restful, quiet, comfortable 8 days.

I like that place, also. I enjoy walking around the grounds, and looking at all the nice yachts moored at their marina area. There is a neat little bar out on the pier that is enjoyable.

Yes, The Pelican Bar. We walked over for lunch and admired some of those fabulous yachts tied up at the Marina. Incredible vessels. The Pelican is so casual and comfortable..... a nice spot.
