Nextel in Nassau

I will be in Nassau on the SOS and was wondering if there is Nextel service there. If there is, do you know if there is any additional charges. Thanks.

I haven't heard anyone being successful with Nextel in Nassau.

The bahamas has switched to GSM service recently. Some of the older ANALOG phones still work there. And yes, there is always an additional charge, which catches up with you several months later. Usually about $2 a minute.

My Ntelos phone didn't work there at all. I had to buy a phone card from a cyber-cafe and then use their phone because most pay phones by the pier won't take calling cards.
