Brief Miracle Review

First off, we flew in a day early to spend a night in New York which I highly recommend because it is a great experience. We arrived in New York City at LaGuardia airport at about 8 in the morning and we didn’t really have time in the airport to really check it out we just wanted to get in the city. We spent literally the whole day in the city and was maybe our room 30 min not including sleep and we didn’t come back to the room until about 11:30 p.m. When we bordered the ship it went pretty fast once they got it all running and we were the first in line due to coming a day early so that helped a bunch. Our room was located on deck 8 and was right in middle of the ship which I absolutely loved because it was thee perfect spot and I was never to far away from anything. It was definitely my favorite room location I have ever had. But the first day on the ship was nice and it all went really well once we all got some of that great food in our bellies. At dinner we had early seating which is nice to do so that you have the rest of the evening to do as you please. At dinner we had thee best waiter we have ever had and his name was Elvis so if any of you get the lucky chance to have him you will be very pleased. The first two sea days went great and we spent most of it at the back pool because it was never busy at all and wasn’t any kids but we went in early June so that may have something to do with it. In San Juan we weren’t really satisfied because there just wasn’t much to do besides go to the Hard Rock and they did have a Senor Frogs so that was nice, but other than that not much and I would have rather stayed on the ship. I’m not sure about any of the tours that you could do in San Juan so I’m not much help in that area. In St. Thomas we didn’t have enough time due to the fact that we had a four hour tour to Trunk Bay on St. John which I also highly recommend because it great for snorkeling and also swimming. For snorkelers, you will love because they have a huge rock out in the water with all kinds of sea life under the water, and there are also signs in the water telling you what different things are that you are seeing. It is a very beautiful beach and I can promise you that you will love it if you like white sand and beautiful blue clear water. In order to get over to St. Thomas we just booked a tour which included a 45 min water taxi ride and nice site seeing tour to and from St. Thomas. When we were back on St. Thomas we went to Hooters which had amazing wings, and some said even better than Hard Rock’s. Hooters is not a far walk from the pier. That is all we really had time for so we headed back to the ship on the pier not even a minute from the ship is a butterfly farm which had many different types of butterflies of many different shapes, sizes, and colors. In Tortola we were very disappointed in this particular Port. It looked beautiful from the outside coming into dock but off the ship there is not much. We were there on a Saturday and most of the shops were closed and the shops that were open didn’t have very good quality merchandise. We were off the ship for maybe and hour and a half and we decided to go back to the ship and that was probably around 11 a.m. so we still had a pretty good chunk of the day left. I would have rather skipped San Juan and Tortola and gone somewhere else or stayed in St. Thomas longer. After Tortola we had another two sea days which went very well and also sad because our wonderful vacation was coming to an end. A few things about the ship and guests: Different layout than what I was used to, like for example the grill and pizzeria that are usually located outside at the back pool were moved to other locations such as the pizzeria being inside where the buffets are and the grill being all the way outside at the main pool. We also noticed that there seemed to be a lot of smokers than usual a board this ship and it made us not even want to go near the Casino or in any of the bars and piano clubs. They also had many problems with satellite signals such as quite a few nights where we couldn’t use the internet in the café, we couldn’t order any movies from our room, and the channels we did get had a bad connection. Also, usually ships will have movies on reg channels that play all through the week and this ship didn’t really have that, it was mostly random movies at different times and we never knew when or what was going to be on. Another thing, I have seen most of the shows but this ship had different ones that I have never seen before and I have got to say that I would have rather been doing somehting else. I don't know what it was I didn't like but I would have rather watched a re-run show than watch either of the shows I watched on that ship. But, other than that it was a great cruise with great staff and I would do it again in a heart beat.

If you have any questions let me know. I just did this in a quick ten minutes and I know I left stuff out so just let me know if you have any particular qestions.

Sorry, I have pictures but they are not uploading right.

I loved the Miracle.. so much so we are going back next year

I agree with you on Tortola.. it was ok.. but not really worth the stop

I also agree with you regarding the shows.. I found them amateurish.. and just not that good.. We were on the Miracle 3 weeks ago.. We had no issues with the satelite connection and First run movies were on all week as well as ppv.. so perhaps it had something to do with weather interference..

Also.. you may want to make this easier to read.. a bit larger font and some spacing...

Thanks

We were on the Miracle in March out of Ft. Lauderdale and really loved it. We found it easy to get familiar with and easy to get around. The staff was great everywhere on the ship. I'm glad that you enjoyed your trip! Thanks for sharing.:)

Sweetpea~ If I remember correctly from the roll call, you were on our sailing...our waiter was also named Elvis. Were you sitting on the top floor at the back? You had to be sitting right next to us (unless there was another waiter named Elvis of course!) We just LOVED our Elvis too:D

Yes we were! We were next to a window and like one table away from the Piano and live music.

Thanks for the nice be=reif review.

Please write more.

We will be on her again starting this coming Wednesday...06/18/2008 A.D.

On the plays and shows...well with so many ships afloat and not enough actors and staff available it is hard for the Cruiselines to really have a great performance.. Only on a few ships ever now do I find Union Wage paid.. if you do actually they have a better performance given.. When they pay in scale as it is ... maybe once they see others may not be cruising as much the improvements will have to come or cruisers will taking other ships..

You landed at the only Airport actually in NYC. There is a very short flightline there.

I am happy for you liking the ship and staff.

it is great!

Thanks again and please write more!

I'm sorry, I'm not positiv one the names, I forgot to bring any Capers home. But, the party I traveled with and myslef included thought it was some of the best food we have ever had on the Carnival ships. I love pasta, so every night at dinner, my starter or main course was a pasta dish and I asolutely loved it. My mom had a few problemsa couple times getting her meat cooked right and had to send it back a few times, but I thought the food was great. At breakfast we went to the dining room everymorning which is open seating and I loved going to the dining room because the food seemed better and of course fresher. I was somewhat dissapointed in the dress some guests wore to dinner. Every night except for formal night there were a bunch of people in jean shorts (girl short shorts) tee-shirts, hats, and just looked like thye came off the beach. I didn't notice too many plants and flowersexcept for the ones in the dining room which were nice. The layout takes some time getting used to, not one of my favorites, but it's still a wonderful ship! Feel free to ask any mroe questions, also I have pictures if you have any specifics you would like to post and I'll see what I have. Bon Voyage, You will love it!

hi

can you tell me more about the snorkling tour? we are trying to pick one:D

We booked a tour on the ship through our tv actually. Our tour started at 8:30 in the morning and lasted about 4 hours that included a ride to and from St. John , a taxi ride to and from Trunk Bay and was all included in the price. I can not recall the exact price off the top of my head but I can find out if you would like. One year we went to Trunk Bay on our own and didn't book a tour and we found that the tour was deffinitly better because they provided all the transportaion you need, time scheduals, a tour of buildings, houses, bodies of water, islands surrounding St. Thomas and was all in all a great tour. But all you need to do to book it is go on your tv, and go to menu, shore excurssions, trunk bay, and fill in your info and submit your folio number. Also when we went snorkeling equipment was also included in the tour. It was a great trip!;)

That's very nice that you like to be with your family ...they call my boys "momma's boys", but they are very social and enjoyed meeting some of the local teenagers that were on the ship. We are from the Pittsburgh area and there were quite a few teenagers that were from around here. They had a great time.

I see that you are booked for another cruise soon...Have fun:)

thanks for the great review. i am on her shortly, and i am really looking forward to it.

i want to do trunk bay too, but have been struggling with whether to take the "excursion" or just make my own way there by taxi to ferry.

when you did the excursion, how long were you actually at the beach for?

did you have to wait a long time before leaving for the excusion group to be assembled, and similarly, did you have to leave early for the same reasons?

what did you do in tortola? where were you that all of the shops were closed? we have narrowed it down to cane garden bay or brewer's. were you at either of those places?

We were suppose to have two hours at the beach but it felt shorter so I'm not exactly positive. No we didn't have to wait a long time at all, it was pretty well organized. In tortola we just walked around at shops off the ship to where the guys tod us all the shopping was, and there wasn't much there. We didn't really go any where in Tortola we just got off the boat and were out in shops for about an 1.5 hrs and then we headed back to the ship. But I have heard people that really like Tortola and maybe we just didn't do the right thing.
