Salmon Fishing in Juneau

Recommended Posts

My Son, Brother, Son in Law, and myself have booked the Juneau Sports Fishing Adventure through Princess. One of the brochures indicates that you don't get your own pole, you share poles and take turns reeling in the fish. Is this true? Has anyone done this excursion?

Normally when fishing for salmon, the boat is trolling and the rods are in holders until a salmon takes the bait, at that time the pole is grabbed the hook set and the fun begins. Most charters run 2-4 rods (some more) at a time while trolling. So yes, you won't have your own pole to hang onto while fishing, but will grab the pole after the fish bites and then take turns with the other fisherman on the charter. I hope that answered your questions.
