bigpete47uk Posted June 17, 2008 #1 Share Posted June 17, 2008 Afternoon all, Will I be able to purchase Euros on board Ventura for use on Port days? Thanks for your time, Pete.
capnpugwash Posted June 17, 2008 #2 Share Posted June 17, 2008 Pete Yes you will but there is a commission to pay, if you go to your local post office they will supply them the following day commission free. Enjoy your cruise Jim
cruisebore Posted June 17, 2008 #3 Share Posted June 17, 2008 This online outfit seems to be offering a good rate with free P&P http://www.crowncurrencyexchange.com/ Regards Cb
capnpugwash Posted June 17, 2008 #4 Share Posted June 17, 2008 Their rate of exchange seems better than that offered by Post Office.
Rare tonyl1956 Posted June 18, 2008 #5 Share Posted June 18, 2008 Thomas Exchange (nothing to do with Thomas Cook) offer better rates still, though there's a fiver charge for insured delivery if you can't pick them up in London. Even so, it works out marginally cheaper to use them than Crown Currency, if you're buying about £500 worth (610€), and they deliver in 5 working days. They also offer the advantage that you can get a small amount of each of several currencies - useful to us as we're going to the Baltic, but less useful if you're going to the Med. I haven't used them yet but they have been around a long time. I've often used their website for comparative purposes. Tony
