San Diego Pier ?

Hi could you tell me if there are any stores within walking distance to the pier to purchase soda and wine. Thanks

The closest supermarket (Ralph's) is about 10 blocks (Market and 3rd) but if you are not picky about what wine you buy you can walk about 3 blocks over to the RiteAide next to the Best Western Bayside Inn or there is a small store inside the Holiday Inn on the Bay right across the street from the pier.

 

If you want to get better wine, you could pretty easily just hop on a trolley (2 blocks) and take it to the Convention Center stop and walk a couple blocks over to Cost Plus World Market, or better yet, take cab to the Trader Joe's on the other side of the bay at Liberty Station (off of Rosecrans).

Taking the cab to Trader Joes in Liberty Station would be your best bet. $2 buck chuck, you can't beat it for the price... Charles Shaw wine that is...

Ralph's has an excellent selection of Wines, we purchased a couple of bottles there last December, a 10 minute walk from the Embassy Suites, 15 minutes from the Pier.
