Seattle Hotel near the pier

We stayed at Marriott waterfront 6/6 before our cruise on Golden Princess. That is a great location, close to Pike market and great restaurant (Anthony's Pier 66) right across street. If you are cruising from Pier 66 you are across street and about 1/4 mile from terminal. If you are leaving from pier 30(as we did). There is an independent shuttle that runs from Marriott for $6 per person. Sign up at front desk at check in. Pier 30 is in an industrial area and not much around there.

We are sailing on the Star Princess. The Marriott sounds great with the shuttle. We will be returning to Seattle for a few days after the cruise and will rent a car. Any suggestions for a nice hotel not too far from the sights.

Thanks again.

There are only two hotels close to Terminal 30 (which is actually about THREE plus miles from Pier 66). Those are the Silver Cloud Inn Stadium and the Best Western Pioneer Square. Everything else is downtown or on waterfront/downtown.

We are staying at the Hampton Inn & Suites Downtown on Sat 6/28 before sailing on the Star on 6/29. What is in the area as far as dining options? We are taking a car service from airport to hotel. So we are more limited as to transportation. With that in mind, I was wondering if it's better to rent a car for the one night and then turn in near the pier if that is possible so we can wander at leisure on Sat night/Sun morning. Any thoughts/suggestions? Thank you

If you don't mind walking about 8-10 blocks down to the Lake (Union), there is Outback, Buca di Beppo, McCormick and Schmick's, Rock Salt Steak House, Daniel's Broiler, Hooters, China Harbor. Going the other way (toward Seattle Center), there are lots of places to eat along Queen Anne Avenue and Mercer Streets.
