Ancient road from Fiesole to Forence

Recommended Posts

Just wondering if anyone has ever walked the ancient road between Fiesole and Florence? The Frommer's Florence Day by Day book lists it as one of the top 10 things to do while in the Tuscany region. Apparently it is not a hard walk and best to do a twilight. Any one done this before? Was it safe? I am thinking that perhaps a bus ride to and dinner in Fiesole, overlooking Florence with a stroll back sounds like an idyllic anniversary evening! As long as being mugged isn't included!!

I would submit your question on Tripadvisor -Florence forum. When in Tuscany in 2006, I walked part of the Via Francigena pilgrim road outside of Monteriggioni. This pilgrim road has gone through the province of Lucca, Pisa, Siena all the way to Rome dating back to the 10th century.
