dz63 Posted June 22, 2008 #1 Share Posted June 22, 2008  We are past Carnival cruisers. We received an email notifying us of Carnival's One Day Sale on June 26. For those of you "experienced" cruisers who have booked during a One Day Sale, what benefits did you receive? We also have a past guest number which I understand gives you some kind of special rates any time. Is there an extra benefit booking during a One Day Sale? Does our past guest number give us the same benefit as a One Day Sale?
jayscore Posted June 22, 2008 #2 Share Posted June 22, 2008 Check the CCL site now and check the price with your Past Guest #, and where and when you're planning to go. (assuming you're signed up with CCL) Then come the 26th, check again to see if there is a difference. Maybe yes, maybe no. If all else fails, call a CCL PVP to find out. Hope this helps!;)
BrendaB1 Posted June 23, 2008 #3 Share Posted June 23, 2008 Talked to Carnival earlier today. Nothing special for past guests. One day sale mostly benefits first time cruises. She said past guests usually get a better deal with PG discount.
Magic City Cruiser Posted June 23, 2008 #4 Share Posted June 23, 2008 My experience has been that as a PG, when I booked, we got a deck upgrade, at least. So, whatver the special says, you should be able to book a higher deck at the same price. My experience, anyway :D . Donna
happy cruzin Posted June 23, 2008 #5 Share Posted June 23, 2008 It is definately worth a call to check it out - but we have found the past guest rates and upgrade to usually be better than the one day sales.

SunnyinMA Posted June 23, 2008 #7 Share Posted June 23, 2008 Also, you can get the one day sale rates before the one day sale. The PVP's can't call you about them but if you call them and ask, they can then talk about it and book it... if it's the day or not.

We are on Empress Deck for our first cruise this coming weekend. That's pretty good, right?

LA Lady Posted June 23, 2008 #10 Share Posted June 23, 2008 Isn't Empress the deck you walk in on when you first board the ship? We have a corner room, E66, and from the deck plans, it looks like it's right there when you walk in.
DGP1111 Posted June 23, 2008 #11 Share Posted June 23, 2008 LALady: you are so right. You couldn't be any closer to your cabin when you board if you tried. Amazing!
