Aft or Forward Serenade of the Seas Alaska

Recommended Posts

Which would you choose, and why?

Right now, I am booked in 9546 on the Serenade of the Seas, which is a bit forward on the starboard side. I just noticed that an aft balcony has become available. The size of the balcony is not my concern. I am more concerned about the view while cruising Alaska. Should I switch to the aft balcony...or stay with my slightly forward starboard balcony? Which would have the better vantage point for views?

Grab that aft before it's gone!!!!! The aft cabins on the Radiance class ships are absolutely awesome!! The views are breathtaking!! They are worth the walk that some people complain about. IMHO there is nothing better than an aft. I would sail in an aft anytime. They are usually very hard to get. Good luck!!

Take the aft cabin...you will have 180 degrees unobstructed views and in Alaska, that is priceless. Here is the view from Cabin 8672 (D1):

Can't say enough about the Radiance Class aft cabins...we have several under our belt, my favorite being 1100 (JS).

Wow! This fell fast from the 1st page. While I do appreciate the opinions expressed so far, I'd like to hear more opinions. So...anyone else think I should grab the aft?

I never even thought about the walk to the aft cabin....something for me to think about. My husband likes to spend time in the casino and I kind of go back and forth between different bars and the nightclub/disco. We would be farther from those venues.

Oh the decisions!

MzKitty,

Your questions was about the views in Alaska so all of us answered regarding that. You just can't beat the aft views.

Re: the walk. Yes, it will be a longer walk to those cabins vs one that is near the centrum elevators/hump etc. But, I never felt it was that long...kinda liked the fact that it gave me some exercise before getting lazy again. I thought the walk was worth it. It is so quiet back there...not a lot of foot traffic in the hallway. Very nice. I think I can speak rather fairly about the afts since we have been in them 4 times on Radiance and Brilliance.

Good luck with your decision.

Well...I went with everyones' advice and grabbed the aft cabin! Yes, I really was more concerned about the view, but when the subject of the walk came up, I just had to rethink it. But, like you said, debandbill, the walk could be a good thing. (Besides, its not like the Serenade is as long as the Freedom, right?;) )

So, aft balcony here I come!
