Casinos at Sea Slot Tournament

Recommended Posts

DH was recently invited to participate in a Slot Tournament thru Casinos At Sea. We were offered a balcony room on the NCL Dawn for free for a seven day cruise to Bermuda in July. The only thing we pay for is a $200 tournament fee and of course the port charges and government taxes. We think this is terrific and immediately took them up on their offer! First prize is $10,000 and whoever wins this, is flown to Las Vegas courtesy of the Harrahs Resorts in October to compete in a Million Dollar Slot Tournament. My question is: Has anyone here been invited on this or any other Slot Tournament like this one? If so, what is it like? We are very excited to be in this, but also, we love the Dawn (This will be our Fourth cruise on her) and am looking forward to sailing her again! Thanks

for any help!:)

We were on the NCL Star last November and the caisno management asked to meet with us. In the meeting, they invited us to a slot tournament. that was taking place like.. the next week or the week after on a cruise out of New Orleans. It was the same deal.. a free balcony room. We declined. Last month we were on the Star again and when we got home, there were three telephone messages from Casino at Seas and two mailings inviting us to one of four cruises, my memory is during the summer months, for a slots tournament, the one you have mentioned. We already have another cruise booked in October so again, we had to decline. Maybe one day we will take them up on it. However even though we usually enter the slot tournament they have on every cruise, I'm not a big fan. I LOVE slots, just not slot tournaments.. Probably because of the dozen or so I have been in, I haven't even come close. Well..I take that back.. I think it was on the NCL Sun or our first cruise on the NCL Star I made it to the top five.. but came in fifth.. LOL

I am sure you will have a good time.. If nothing else, you got a good deal on a very inexpensive (your actual out-of-pocket) cruise. I'm sure if you guys are anything like us, you will make up for it in the casino...LOL

it's where you and several others, sit at a slot machine...press the button as fast as you can for 5 to 10 minutes....the person with the most points wins. usually there are 2 rounds..they add the points from the 2 rounds.

the usually tournaments in the ship are for a bottle of bubbly or something.

the tournament they are discussing where you win a trip to harrah's and a chance for big money...it's going on at the local harrah's casinos, also.

Thank you for that answer so you sit in front of a fruit machine and hope that your machine is on a winning streak?

I think I can do that:)

the regular slot tourney, on the ship, is different...they have a bank of machines..you pay the entry fee and play. top 5 (?) scores win prizes, not big prized. they, usually, have 2 of these during a cruise.

the tourney the OP is talking about is an invite from the harrahs casinos. the local harrahs are having tourneys and the winners are going to play in the big tourney in las vegas. we get invites from our local sheraton casino (harrah's property) but can never play due work.

The bank of machines that you are sitting at when you are in the slot tournament have been set to tournament mode. So every other spin is a winner of some sort.

what i want to know is how you get invited to one of those? lose the most money at the slots? i think i could fulfill that requirement...

In a round about way, it is true that it is people that lose money in their casinos. The reason I say this is it is based, not really on how much you lose, but how long you play in their casinos. The longer you play in their casinos, the more you stand to lose. IF by some chance you play a long time and come out ahead and actually take the casino for a lot of money, you still stand a chance to be invited. The casinos know that the longer you play, the more you stand to lose.
