Almost new to Carnival, any ideas for the eastern med.?

We impulsively booked the Carnival Freedom for the eastern Mediterranean for Oct. 25th. Any suggestions regarding the ship and possible tours? Opinions welcome! Our last time on a Carnival ship was in 1988, and I am sure everything has changed.
