simkoreb Posted October 15, 2004 #1 Share Posted October 15, 2004 I'm sailing on the Miracle in Feb and want to rent a car for the day. I'm confused, is there more than 1 pier that ships dock at? I want to make sure and use an agency at the pier, but don't know if I need to worry about more than 1 pier. Can anyone help?
Cotton Posted October 15, 2004 #2 Share Posted October 15, 2004 Maybe someone can be more specific, but there are three piers at Cozumel. Carnival owns the Puerta Maya Pier, so most of their ships dock there, but I understand that if that pier is full, they also use Punta Langosta at the town of San Miguel. I don't even know who you should ask at Carnival, and if they'd know the answer...there's all kinds of situations that can change port dockings. But - good luck to you!
CozSally Posted October 15, 2004 #3 Share Posted October 15, 2004 Cotton is absolutely correct. Since the Miracle has not yet begun its Cozumel run, we have no idea where she will dock. Most probably Puerta Maya, possibly at Punta Langosta. Once the Miracle begins to come to Cozumel, we can tell you a bit more.
ready2goindec Posted October 21, 2004 #4 Share Posted October 21, 2004 We'll be visiting Cozumel Dec. 15, 2004 while on our very first cruise. We'll be on the NCL Majesty with a family group of 18 people. Any idea where the majesty will dock? We look forward to visiting Tom at Paradise Beach. zydecocruiser Posted October 21, 2004 #5 Share Posted October 21, 2004 NCL will probably be Punta Langosta. They can switch, but a couple of references: http://www.travelnotes.cc/cruise/index.php http://www.cozumelinsider.com/cruiseships/
joeb49 Posted October 26, 2004 #6 Share Posted October 26, 2004 ok- there are 3 piers- right? Looking at cozumelinsider site it says that the CCL Inspiration is docking at "Calica". Not the first time I have seen that name. How about that one- didn't see it on the travelnotes map at their site. Always appreciate everyones help! Thanks! CozSally Posted October 26, 2004 #7 Share Posted October 26, 2004 Calica is the port for Playa del Carmen, on the mainland. It is included in the Cozumel harbormaster's listing of ships, so Cozumel Insider lists it, but it is not Cozumel. Hope that helps!
