Horseshoe Bay from St. George?

Hi Sunluva

This is the response I got.......

“Now, since you are planning a separate day to Horseshoe Bay, there really is no straight route going to it, unless they have a special bus going directly there which is not noted.

It appears that you could go to Hamilton via 10,11 (according to #11, it takes 50 minutes) Then take the #7, from what I can tell it is probably 35 minutes.

You could also take #3 to Hamilton, but this takes 60 minutes. Then you would still have to catch bus #7.” -Musicgirl63

I plan on checking out the cab fares, and if it’s not totally ridicules, it may be worth it rather than being on a bus all day.

Thanks. I agree - that is way too much time to spend on a bus. I wonder if it would save time to take the ferry to Hamilton - the ferry does go to Hamilton to St. George, right, then on to Dockyard? And then from Hamilton take the #7 bus?

What do you think?

I may consider the taxi, after all.:)

I don’t know…….since you will be departing the day I get back……. I won’t be able to tell you of our experiences…..I am keeping my options open, hopefully someone will post a response to this question before we leave…..

We took a taxi from St. Georges to Horseshoe Bay in '06. As I recall it was about $55. Worth it if there are 4 of you sharing the cab. The bus or the bus/ferry trip is fine if you have the time. What's also nice about the cab is that it takes you all the way down the hill to the parking lot by the beach. That hill can be a killer for us old folks, especially the return trip!

Thank you, that is the ball park figure we would consider paying for the ease of using a cab. We plan on using the buses for our other adventures, but after spending a day at the beach, we will probably want the quickest, most direct route back to the ship.
