Carcross ATV Tours

We have a car next week, driving to Emerald Lake. I just discovered this option in Carcross. Has anyone done one of these tours and was it worth it? It sounded like a good diversion for the kids. Also, if you enjoyed yourself, do you thing we could just "wing" it or have to make reservations? Thanks for your input. I need to stop researching and finding interesting things to do in Alaska!!!!! Just get me on the ship!!!!

My DW is the adventurous one in the family. She loved the ATV at Caribou Crossing. They did the "short" ride and had a lot of fun!

We made advance reservations for both the ATVs and the Dog Cart Rides, but honestly I think we probably did not need them. The tour buses all leave by about 2 PM and you will have the place to yourself.
