maun Posted July 6, 2008 #1 Share Posted July 6, 2008 Hi, Starting from Hamilton, what is the order and distance between each of these beaches: Warwick, Jobson's Cove, Horseshoe, and Elbow? Can you take the #7 bus to get to each of them? Are any within walking distance of each other? Are they all a long walk downhill like Horseshoe? Thanks for your help. ~~Maun

When you enter the parking lot of the beach, if you turn left, Warwick stretches for a great distance similar to Horseshoe. If you turn to the right, Jobson's Cove is a very short walk. It is very nice and secluded but a very small area. Continuing towards the dockyard, Horseshoe Bay is about 1,500 yards further away. All are accessible from the number 7 bus, only Horseshoe has the long walk down the hill. There is a path that connects all the beaches that you can walk from one end to the other. It would be a vigorous walk to each of the other beaches, especially Elbow beach. So it depends how ambitious and fit you are.
maun Posted July 6, 2008 Author #3 Share Posted July 6, 2008 Thanks for the info Writeratsea. It was very helpful. One more question... when you say there is a walking "path" is it a relatively smooth level path or is it a good place to break an ankle? Thanks again. ~~Maun

Similar to the paths through the beach grass to access the beaches on Cape Cod. It is not a formal path, just worn through the years of travel by visitors. If you are feeling adventurous, you can also access a path at Jobson's Cove that goes up the high hill on the right. Once up at the top, the view is terriffic.:)

Mammaof2girls Posted July 11, 2008 #6 Share Posted July 11, 2008 1) If the OP doesn't mind, I would like the same information but starting from King's Wharf. That's where our ship will be docked and would like to know the closest beach (and distance) versus the furthest beach. Thanks! :) 2) I was also curious as to the distance from King's Wharf and that Sea Glass Beach (not the Alexandra one....the one by the Naval Dockyard). Not sure if we take a bus there or a ferry?? From the dockyard (King's Wharf) the order is reversed. The first beach would be Horseshoe Bay and so on. Horseshoe is about 30 minutes by bus or taxi.:)
