the_psycho Posted April 8, 2004 #8 Share Posted April 8, 2004 Keggers. Getting the keg through security is somewhat difficult, but once you're through, its a blast. Nothing quite as fun as the looks you get taking a 1/2 barrel keg up the glass elevators in the Centrum. Be sure to bring some tiki torches and fake leis too. They really add to the atmosphere. <color=#8b0000>until Serenade of the Seas Spring Break 2004!!

Then just haul that sucker up. -Monte some of my cruising photos: http://community.webshots.com/user/m1bisson A bad day cruising is better than a good day at work. the_psycho Posted April 8, 2004 #10 Share Posted April 8, 2004 mbisson, Unfortunatly (for that plan, not for the location), we had an aft cabin on deck 10 on the last cruise, thereby accomidation half of the schooner bar and most of the RCI dancers from the production shows, but making the prospect of hoisting anything up from the pier pretty much impossible. Oh well. <color=#8b0000>until Serenade of the Seas Spring Break 2004!!
Sophie Posted April 8, 2004 #11 Share Posted April 8, 2004 As we arrived in Key West the crowd on the pier began to cheer as though we were some ship full of Vikings returning home. My DH was very impressed with all the fanfare until we were informed that some woman on the balcony below ours was butt naked and going through some kind of religous ritual and drying her hair at the same time. By the time he found the camera the show was over. Sophie
GrannyJ Posted April 9, 2004 #12 Share Posted April 9, 2004 Heck, that weren't no religious ritual. Mah bathrobe done got blowed overboard, mah #@&%! husband locked the balcony door and them danged no-see-um's was beginnin' to bite. ahoughton Posted April 9, 2004 #15 Share Posted April 9, 2004 The balcony comes in handy for smuggling you beer on board. sgttami Posted April 9, 2004 #16 Share Posted April 9, 2004 Last month when we were on Radiance we were docked next to Carnival Inspiration in Cozumel. It was almost time to leave port and my husband and I had taken showers and were sitting on the balcony in our RCL robes drinking a cocktail (smuggled alcohol)when a group from Inspiration on the pool deck started yelling over to us about how much they liked our balcony..how much did it cost etc...and I found myself playing sales agent in a bathrobe while dripping wet and yelling over to the other ship. HB Cruiser Posted April 9, 2004 #17 Share Posted April 9, 2004 This is not very exciting but "might" be original. Not funny but effective. Last summer on Voyager, every time we took our cameras and video camera out to the top deck or balcony to take pix, our lenses would fog up due to the heat outside and the temp of the lenses from our air conditioned cabin. Our video camera would say "Dew Detected" and automatically turn off. We started leaving our camera and video camera on the balcony, in their case of course, so they would always be warm and never once did we have the problem of them fogging up again. As I said, not very exciting but effective. Tim
TTCruiser Posted April 9, 2004 #18 Share Posted April 9, 2004 I like to repel down from my balcony to the pier when in port. It sure beats waiting for an elevator or taking the stairs down to disembark!! NOTE...please do not repel on days when tendering service is only available. cprincess Posted April 9, 2004 #21 Share Posted April 9, 2004 This has to do with the balcony; We were on Voyager last year docked at Labadee(ok, close to it anyway). Got back up to our room and took my shower after being out in the hot sun, sand and water. When I step out of the bathroom, DH had the curtains open to the balcony. And naturally there just happen to be a WINDOW WASHER there on scaffolding. Needless to say he didn't stick around to get a better look. And neither did I for that matter. Back in the bathroom I went as quickly as possible.
