Carlyzmom Posted July 16, 2008 #4 Share Posted July 16, 2008 We LOVED the Triumph!!! It was our last cruise before kids - so it was very special. We loved Miami as well. Make some extra time - before or after - to walk along Ocean Blvd. It is a neat experience. We are from a small town in Texas, so we saw some things we don't normally see!! It was great! :)
Young cruiser Posted July 16, 2008 Author #5 Share Posted July 16, 2008 I have heard to "LOOK OUT" ( and NOT in a good way ) for Porter 150 in Miami. Has anyone have any trouble with him lately? P.S Also heard porter 149 is a great guy:)
thepeach Posted July 16, 2008 #6 Share Posted July 16, 2008 We just got off the Triumph on Sunday. We had a fabulous time with our kids and grandson. We were in room 8349 and had the best steward we have ever had, Ridi. The dining room food was great (especially the prime rib, filet, grilled shrimp, fried shrimp, lobster and flat iron steak), the service was excellent (we were at table 333), and the entire ship's staff was very friendly. The Chinese food was great, and the buffet on the Lido was great some days, not so much other days. There's always the grill line and pizza to fall back on. There is sushi on board, but it is not free. There isn't a fish and chips station. The sushi cart is near the casino. We were not thrilled with the female featured singer at the shows. We found her voice to be rather shrill and annoying. The shows were all good, however. I didn't see a band at sail away or during the week. The Triumph is at the new terminal and it's very nice. We are platinum, so we get VIP boarding. We were taken to a very nice large check in and waiting area. It appears that non-Platinum passengers check in by deck, like you do on Royal Carribean. We sort of breezed through the area since we were being led to the VIP area, so sorry I can't provide more information. Muster drill went very fast and smooth. We never noticed a sewer smell throughout the entire cruise. You will have a fabulous time on the Triumph!!
Hurricane Girl Posted July 16, 2008 #7 Share Posted July 16, 2008 We were on her in May...we had a problem with 150...we loved this ship...the crew was great, good food, great deli food, there was a not so good band on there for the week, they do not board you by what deck you are on...they give you a number and when they call that number you board. It's been a couple of years since we boarded in PC so I can't compare there (yet) Been on the Glory (going again in Sept.) but to compare the ships I think they are a lot alike. Click on our webshots in our sig. and you can see pics of Triumph.

AdrenalineRush Posted July 16, 2008 #11 Share Posted July 16, 2008 The sushi is not included???? Does anyone know why this is? I was on the Glory I will be one very sad and grumpy girl if this is true. Any others know about this? Thank you for all of the info so far!!!!!! Sushi is included at no additional cost...they do charge if you want sake(rice wine) which might have confused the other posters.
Young cruiser Posted July 16, 2008 Author #12 Share Posted July 16, 2008 Ok I hope you are right Chillaxin!!! I am more than happy to pay extra for the sake. We bought the large size (threre were three of us) and then headed over to the casino to get a couple a beers for "sake bombs" this was a new drink for most of the bartenders. I really got a kick out of them when they said "You are going to do WHAT and then DRINK IT"
Hurricane Girl Posted July 16, 2008 #13 Share Posted July 16, 2008 I remember when we were on there they had the stand set up and they had a little sign with the prices on it...I may be wrong about them charging.
CjKd Posted July 16, 2008 #14 Share Posted July 16, 2008 YAY! I thread about the Triumph. Like some of you, I was on the Glory last year, which I loved and now the Triumph in December (12/28). I can't wait to see how they refurbish the Triumph in the fall. Please make sure you post on the New Years thread Roll Call if you are on this ship. I can't wait! It will be so snowy and cold here in CT. I heard to stay away from that 150 porter in Miami... far away. It seems that a singles company is offering discounts this cruise, which I found out on the thread. Can't wait... go Triumph! :D

Young cruiser Posted July 16, 2008 Author #19 Share Posted July 16, 2008 Do they charge or do they not? Is there any way the sign you saw was for sake. Or did you read it an see that it WAS for the sashi itself. Even I feel like I am making too big of a deal out of this now.....but it is one of the things I look most forward to while on a crusie...... Hurricane Girl Posted July 16, 2008 #20 Share Posted July 16, 2008 I'm not sure what they were charging for, I think there was two or three prices listed on the sign...No one in our party eats sushi. I wish that I could tell you exactly what the prices were for. sorry :(
