Why are all the Carnival Fantasy Suites on 2/16 sold out?

My husband and I plan on taking the February 16th, 2009 Carnival Fantasy cruise. We noticed that all the suites are already sold out. I have done extensive searching and found no large groups going with us. Does anyone know why the suites would all be sold out or how to find out if there is a large group sailing with us and I just missed it?

That week is February Vacation week for all the schools in the Northeast. It is the biggest vacation week in Florida!

It just may be that they are sold out?

Just a guess.

Yes, St. Valentine's Day produces a lot of guilt cruise suite purchases. :D

Maybe because it is a busy week, and there are only about 20 suites on the whole ship?

I thought it might be because of being sold out. But I would assume that it would be sold out on the other levels as well. And it isn't. In fact, there is no problem at all getting any other class of cabin. So, it made me scratch my head. :)

There are so few suites on this class of ship, that prime times (vacation weeks) sell out first.

Then it seems to be the best deals on inexpensive cabins next, which leaves the midrange okay ones to sell last.

Trick if you really want a suite...

Keep checking every day.

Especially at certain payoff times

90 days out, 60 days out, 30 days out (you know the various times where different penalties kick in).

A lot of times people book suites these cabins, just to hold them, then cancel.

I just booked a penthouse suite on the Fantasy and there were only 6 left as of last night: this is for the 12/8/08 sailing.

To me, it was such a good price for my family of 5 that I couldnt' pass it up.

That's my guess: priced right and not that many of them.
